rear brake question
#1
i just put new rear pads on my warrior and now they are rubbing the disc. how do i adjust it out so they won't rub? i plan on eliminating the parking brake also, how do i go about this? thanks for the help

its a rub. not too slight but not locked up either. I could smell them after I took it down the road. the rotor was very hot (my dumbass touch it, lol).
I have taken the e-brake cable off so far. anything else I need to take off at the caliper? is there any adjustment to it?

Either your dragging is being caused by the parking brake adjuster applying pressure to the piston, or the sliders are stuck/seized and the caliper isn't centering over the rotor. Start by taking off that parking brake and see what happens.
To remove the parking brake, first you will need a parking brake blockoff plate. The ones that rockymountainatv sells under the tusk brand name are one of the best ones out there, as well as one of the cheapest. They're better than most other brands because they have an o-ring to seal out the moisture and dust, most others do not.
But anyways, the first step is to unbolt the parking brake assembly from the caliper with the 2 allen head bolts.
Then you bolt your blockoff plate in place to seal out the dirt.
Then disconnect the cable at both the caliper end and at the handlebars, and pull the cable out.
Finally, you'll have to unplug the parking brake sensor from the wiring harness to keep the rev limiter from kicking in. You'll have to remove the headlights and hood, then follow the wire from the clutch perch down to the wiring harness where they plug in. You will find 2 wires coming from your clutch perch. One will have 2 seperate spade connectors, that one is actually your clutch sensor and you can just leave that one alone. The second one, the one with the single plastic connector, is the parking brake sensor. Simply unplug that one and you're finished.
Any questions?

Just to add, don't ride anymore until you get that fixed. Aside from killing your brand new pads you can also warp your rotor, and these stainless brake rotors are anything but cheap.
My money is on the parking brake being the issue. They require constant adjustment, especially when you install new pads.

I already had the cable off and the wiring unplug. just got a block off plate for it today. the sliders are good and the caliper is centered. how do I adjust the parking brake. I see the bolt sticking out of the side with the lock nut. I loosened up the lock nut but the bolt didn't want to turn and I didn't want to mess up the caliper. what do I do now?

If you got the blockoff plate just unbolt that parking brake assembly and chuck it. If it's not there you don't need to adjust it...
