Default What do you guys run your suspension setups at?

I wanted to slam my DS down a little bit and lowered the suspension in front by about 2 inches and the rear by about an inch. This put my rear sag at almost 8 inches, and the front at about 6 inches.

I know generally they say to keep sag at about 15-25% of suspension travel? My rear is extended with elkas on the front & rear, so my overall travel in the rear is more than stock (maybe 11 inches? dont remember the stock figure, but I think its an inch over that).

seeing as how my sag is about 50% front and 60% rear right now (with me on it) that seems a LITTLE steep...lol It looks killer and rides better now that the center of gravity is lower, but I think it leaves too little suspension travel to take medium sized bumps. Granted the suspension will fully extend when its in the air (leaving full travel for a landing) but hitting a bump while on a smooth surface will only use the 40-50% travel remaning before it bottoms.

What is your setup?

Roost,
I have a +4 ODP arm and it works out to be around 13.25in rear wheel travel for me. But it will be different from arm to arm depending on the shock mount....

I run 5.5 inches front sag (out of 12 so still have 6.5in travel left) and 6.5 rear (out of 13.25 so 6.25 travel left)

This much sag does bottom out during fast duning, but not to bad. I really like the way it does side hilling the big dunes, much better than when I was running 3in sag on the front and 4 rear before.

Anyway its all going to change this weekend as I have Fox Floats waiting for me....... not sure how I will be setting those up, think I need a new thread.

alright I think ill keep it where its at and just bump the up compression just a bit to make sure those G-outs dont completely wreck my spine.

Def make a new post about the floats stir, I dont think too many DS'ers run the floats. I would like to try the floats on my next dune/drag project as they are so light (maybe some evol's if I can find them without spending 3 house payments on them).

How do you bump up the compression on the rear shock? I need to do that because I bottom out way too easy on G-outs.

I have elka's that are fully adjustable so my compression adjustment is on top of the reservoir (a black dial). Do you run stock shocks? I think all years are compression adjustable... There is a screw (flat blade) on the bottom of the remote resevoir of the rear shock, turning it IN (clockwise) should make it stiffer (i think...) can anybody confirm that for him? That should be correct if i am remembering right from my 03.
