I have a 95 ploaris 4x4 and was checking the front hub for oil and dont really know what they mean by11 -4 when filling them

 

by 4 or 11 they mean 4 o'clock or 11 o'clock it is the posision if the drain plug for the hub so it just runs out at 4 or 11

 

imagine a clock. jack the front wheels off the ground, unscrew the drain plug and empty out the fluid. then put some fluid in the same hole, rotate the tire until the drain/fill hole is at the 4 o'clock position, just like a clock. that is the amount needed in the hub. good luck- PB500

 

HIYA,THE BOOK SAYS,8-4 BUT I USE 9 OCLOCK OR 3 OCLOCK, 9----0----3 THIS IS WHERE YOU TURN THE HUB TO SEE IS SOME FLUID RUNS OUT. DON'T LET MUCH RUN OUT CAUSE IT ONLY HOLDS A FEW OUNCES.

 

got it that makes sense will low oil keep the hub from locking and also should it have 12 volts going to the hubs the light come on but wont lock

 

I THINK IF THE LIGHT COMES ON YOU HAVE POWER TO AT LEAST 1 HUB ALSO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE NO PLAY IN THE HUBS, NO PLAY.
