I have a 1999 Sportsman 500, which has the lower style steering bushing. Can i convert the lower steering bushing to the new style bearing type found in the 2001 and up models without any mods except the bolt holes will have to be enlarged. will the bearing assemble fit in the large hole on the frame? the hole in the frame on my 1999 is aprox. 1.5 inches. I.D. I am now using the Hot Seat Perfomance lower steering bushing. but my steering shaft is wore in the bushing and i am going to have to buy a new shaft anyway, so i was wondering if this mod will work without any mods to the frame?
