Default Polaris Outlaw 90 upgrades and restrictions on stock

I ran onto a really good deal on an 07 Outlaw 90. I've heard of a number of restrictions that come from the factory. An exhaust restrictor, a carb or intake restrictor and something with the clutch. Can anyone shed some light on these and any other restrictors? What upgrades can be done, reasonably cost effective? I've seen FMF pipes, foam filters (UNI) and clutch parts. What about jetting on these when you change the intake and exhaust? Lots of help please. I have been on the Maximum RPM site. Good stuff there. How about wheels. What bolt pattern does this use and I saw some wheels that had these designations- 3+5 or 2+4 wheels. These are Douglas. I assume it has something to do with offset???? I would like to find some high offset wheels to make it a bit more stable. Thoughts on wheels and also rear tires for sand?

I have an Outlaw also but I have heard of no restrictions from the factory. I bought a Billet exhaust endcap off ebay for $45 and that helped alot. I just got last Friday some Sand Gecko paddles on Douglas wheels from Rocky Mountain for a good price. I went with those because a friend I met at the dunes with 3 Outlaw 90's said he like those better than the Sand Star's. He had Gecko's on 2 and Star's on the other. They worked really good in the dunes over the weekend and my son said they were great. Those numbers do refer to the offset. Check out that endcap on ebay. After installing it I dont know if I need a full pipe. It sounds awesome and looks great. Definite noticable difference. Cant beat the price.

Well I honestly dont know about the polaris 90, but My son has a kawasaki KFX90 and it has a restrictor in the cvt, a 1 inch spacer under the belt. We removed it and it DOUBLED the top speed. When we got it and he was learning it ran about 15mph tops, I removed that spacer and it runs 30-32mph now. Not sure if Polaris uses the same cvt set up or not, but its worth investigating

No the Outlaw 90 does not use teh CVT restrictor. Like EdKatt stated, I also do not know of any stock restrictors installed on the Outlaw. I did just like EdKatt and removed the stock baffles, cut some holes in the lid and put in some prefilter in them and installed a Uni foam filter and it does pretty well considering it has only cost me $9.00 in mods. As far as paddle tires for the mini machines the Skat Trak gliders are really hard to beat.

When you change anything in the intake and/or exhaust on these, are there any jetting changes needed? I read in a post that the main jet was changed from an 80 to 85. Not sure about this though. Are there wider offset wheels available and what are some thoughts about wheel spacers? Just want a nice, stable ride. I have heard that changing tires to a flatter tread instead of the very rounded helps a lot. Thanks for all of the help.
