brute 750 vs prairie 700
#1
By the end of the summer i will have saved up enough to buy a brute 750 or prairie 700. I would like to know witch one is better all around. and witch will win in an drag. Also what are the problems with each. Thank you. Logan

750 wins on a drag.
700 is overall more reliable - less parts.
'08 750 has EFI
'06 was the last production year for 700
I like 700 better in twisties due to lower CG.
If you are looking for used one, get a 700. I think that's the best 4x4 quad Kawi ever produced in overall reliability and peformance wise.

having owned a 700p and now a brute in a drag race you can throw a blanket over them there that close!700 handeles way beter that brute and beleive it or not has more ground clearnce under power than brute.my brute force 750 when gasing it squats bad and touches down all the time,700 with sra maintanes a constant 7'' of clearence

I say buy a 650 brute sra and use the money you save on mods. I can get a new one for a little over $5000 otd. Get a good exhaust $400, cdi $150, a cheap set of cams like stage 1 hot cams or web 150i $150 used, and a set of wiesco pistons $150. Then you have the Brutes looks, prairie handling, proven praire reliability. All rapped up in a package with more power than either. Just my opinion

I have had both and here are my thoughts.
1. POWER: Both are very close. The bf750 is around 52HP and the bf700 is around 49HP.
2. TORQUE: Both are again very close and those v-twins are amazing torque monsters.
3. RIDE: The BF750 rides smoother than the 700 prairie b/c of the IRS vs. the SRA.
4. FAST RIDING: The 700 prairie wins here b/c it has better handling.
5. GROUND CLEARANCE: The bf750 wins with about 11" while the p700 prairie has about 7" at the lowest point which is at the SRA gear housing.
6. EFI or CARB: If you get an 2008 bf750, it has EFI which is better IMO. The prairie 700 was last made in 2006 and is carb.
7. MUDDING: The prairie 700 will do OK, but b/c of it's SRA, it will high center. The bf750 with it's IRS wins here hands down.
If price is an issue and you don't need the ground clearance for deep rut mudding, get the BF650 SRA. It sells for $5,999 at our local dealer which is why they don't sell the other brands 500cc machines.
