Has anyone put aftermarket tires on their 2000 or 2001 Big Bear.I was wondering what size to use. I was thinking of 26 X 12 X 10 vampires but the man at the tire place said they would be too big. The stock rear tire is 25 X 11 X 10. Goodyear makes a mud runner in that size but I like the vampires better. All comments appreciated.

I have 26X12X12 Vampires on the rear and 26x9.50X12 on the front of my 2000 BB. Trust me the tires will fit easily. The tires don not hit the fenders or rub on the frame. I also have a winch behind the bumper the Vampires don't hit it either. I would not listen to your local tire dealer. If you have any more questions about tire size and what will fit and what won't call the guys at Highlifter they will help you.

Thanks for the reply. What size rims did you have to buy for the back?

JDM,

I went with 26x12x12 Mudrunners on the back of my Kodiak, using stock rims. I imagine the same holds true for the Big Bear

The Vampires are mounted on stock rims all away around, no problems. Before I put these tires on I called the guys at Highlifter they said that this size of tire would be perfect for the BB. I do not recommend getiing tires any bigger (27" or 28") unless you plan on doing some mods to the engine.
