Default Wolverine Suspension Swap?

First off, i have been riding a Kodiak 450 IRS for a few years and have loved it, but i have been wanting something a little bit sportier, so i just got a Wolverine 450. The only regret with the wolverine is that the ride is so rough. I have been used to riding the kodiak so the wolverine is pretty stiff.

Now i know that the kodiak/grizzly and wolverine have the same amount of travel and are very similar overall, so has anybody done/thought about a suspension swap from a Kodiak to the Wolverine(esp. the rear)? And how do yall think that would turn out even with the rear solid axle? Thanks

just go with a set of elka shocks, they will be 100% better than a stock wolverine and probably a lot better than a kodiak also.

very true, that's why I haven't upgraded to them myself. A company called works also makes replacement shocks for the wolverine, and they are supposed to be good, but a lot less expensive than the elkas.

Have you tried adjusting the factory shocks yet?

Now that I think about it, doesn't the wolverine share the frame with the bruin 350, and not the grizz/kodiak? I know I have read that on a few of the wolverine reviews, and I just compared the two of mine and they look indentical...so I don't know if the grizz/kodiak shocks would bolt right up ( but I would guess it wouldn't be a problem)

i havent adjusted the factory shocks yet, but they only have one notch until they are the softest. Which i know will still not be as soft.

i knew the wolvy had the same engine and was the same size as our Kodiak 450, but like you said, it might have the same frame as the Bruin. How does your bruin ride compared to the wolverine(assuming it has a rear solid axle too)?

I would also head to http://www.bikebandit.com and use the OEM parts finder. they show how the bike is made.

that looks pretty nice. do you happen to know of anybody who has one on their wolverine?

And i have been looking at the OEM diagrams, and from what i see, one of the Kodiak rear shocks may fit on the rear Wolvy shock
