Default need help guys! wiring issue

I have a 99 sp 500 non ho that has the issue with low to no spark only sparks sometimes. i ohmed out the pickup coil and got 100 ohms. I ohmed the stator and got 3.6/698 ohms. It looks like the stator was replaced before at some point. I have a yellow wire and a yellow red stripe wire that are down by the stator and are not hooked to anything on the stator. I think I have a bad stator but am confused about seeing only three wires hooked up to it and the other two doing nothing. I did find some cracks in the coating on the stator I was going to put this up for sale today to buy my new sp500. So I need help fast.

I don't have a manual here with me but the yellow wires are for the charging system. The ohms readings you posted seem close(don't have a book to verify, they're at work) The other wires have to do with the ignition side. It seems really odd the yellow ones are not connected to anything. That can't be right in my opinion.

I believe the reverse limiter is in the speedo on that machine. Try unplugging the speedo and see if anything changes.

Well I found tonight that when I turn it over and hold the plug to groung I get a weak spark from the end of the plug to the frame not from the electrode to the end. I'm stumped on this. I even tried with a new plug and still no go. what do you guys think this wheeler is worth not running?
