I've got an 87 LT50 that has had all restrictors removed (exhaust, intake, carb jet, plastic lid on the back of air filter). I've clocked it with my GPS at 14 mph and I'm 245lbs. Is this about all that I can expect from this. I am considering milling the head .030 and cleaning up the intake and exhaust ports. Any ideas what this would net me speed and power wise? But the bike is pretty much bullet proof right now and don't want to do it at the expense of reliability. What are the top speeds some of you are getting out of your 50's?

 

My son's 2003 LTA 50 (2 stroke) will wind out on a straight away to about 22MPH with him on it (50lbs) That is the speed I have on my speedo when following/pacing him on my quad. I read some posts where people were getting close to 30 MPH, but we haven't been able to get close to that.
We did all the mods that I know of.
