wheel spacers

I ride alot of tight woods trails but I was wondering if two inch whell spacers in ther rear would work good?

I think they will bend your axle?

I have never bent an axle but I have used spacers.
I would just try to get +1" for eachh side and then when ordering new wheels and tires get a +1"
offset wheel. It does just as good and if a bend ever occurs it is more likeley to be on the rim.
which is cheaper to replace.
