basically no if everything is working properly...... but if you are getting a flooding issue the seat in the needle valve is probably bad or has dirt in it causing fuel to leak past it

Shut the gas off when transporting the quad. It should be okay to leave it on the rest of the time. I did it that way for years on all my quads.

dx, do you actually have an issue or just curious? Colt is right here, shouldn't be a problem if everything is right...I've really never had to use the fuel shutoff for anything other then working on the bike.

I shut the valve off while changing the filter the other day. Then spent 10 min trying to find out why it would"t start. This is the first time I shut a fuel valve off since I did it once with my helicopter. I took off & it quit 5' above the ground.

I heard that the gas sloshing around could go through the carb into the cylinder and wash the oil off. No idea if it's true or not but I started using the shut-off. EFIs don't even have one so there's one less thing to wory about.
