Spark plug cap

I have a cracked cap but everything starts and runs fine. Would a new cap make it run better? I plan on replacing the plug and cap eventually but in the mean time could the cracked one cause any problems?

Spark plug cap

It could definantly cause a misfire or stall if it gets wet or submerged. I'd change it out right away with one from the dealer...its only a couple minuites work.
