Replacing inner rear CV Boot
#1
I tore a rear inner boot and took everything apart to replace it and got the clamps off the old boot but can not get the shaft pulled loose to take the old boot off. What am I missing here?

you have the cv assembly out of the bike? if its like mine then there is a clip on the inside you need to release to slide it off the shaft. see my pics.(under the camera) to see a pic of what it looks like. (cant rememebr which pic number it is) you have to clean the grease out to see it. oh and welcome to the forum.

I just did my 500. As Stendori said clean the grease off around the inside of the cv cup and find the small split ring along the inside edge. Run your finger along the edge and you should feel the ring.

its just easier to work on to me when its out of the bike. it just snaps out(the whole assembly). it comes out pretty dry sometimes when you give it a good snap.
