Default 1998 WARIOR 350 RUNNING AND STARTING PROBLEMS

its a 1998 warrior 350.. i just put a new flywheel clutch on.. and charged the battery but then i turn the key on and hit the electric start it turns over for like 3 secs then quites..i turn the key off and back on and it does the same thing it wont stay turned over... if i hold the e start down and flick the key back and forth it will start and if i rev it it will stay running for 5 secs then stall out.. but if i rev it while turning he key back and forth it stays running but pops and doesn't want to idle when i stop gassing it.. i took it to a dealership they had it for a month and a half al;l; the dude ddi in that period is clean the carb and replace the flywheel so i went and picked it up cause it was taking way too long.. i need help to get this thing back on the trails if anyone knows what is wrong or what i can do i would really appreciate it thanks my email is hostetler_truck@windstream.net

sounds like you might have a poopy stator, but you should bouble check your wiring and check your key switch, unplug it and check the pins inside the connector and use dialectic grease on them, what kinda spark you getting? is your battery fully charged? try jump starting it to see what happends...

most likely its not timing, and i wouldnt think a cdi, it sounds like a wiring prob somewhere

i checked over all the wiring and cleaned the stator... when i turn on the key i can hear the stator click then it wont turn over after the click.. sometimes when i turn on the key the stator doesnt click and then it lets me start it.. but then dies... would the stator be making it die.. or make the motor knock and skip when running?

hmmm make sure your relays are ok, and check your solenoid, pull it out of the rubber grommet and see if your fuse is ok...try holding a screwdriver to it to bypass it 4 a sec and see if it will fire right up then, your neutral light flick on and off at the same time your solenoid clicks?

will it skid start? if you could skid start or jump start it, then it would reveal whether the stator or coil wasnt doing its job, i wish i was there lol its hard to figure things out over a pc lol, ive had similar probs on my bike but i figured them out somehow, i have a spare parts bike to swap some things out, make troubleshooting easier

i switched the fuse and it started with electric start but it wont stay idleing it runs just on choke then when i take it off it dies.. when its on choke it knocks and pops i tried adjusting the carb and it didnt work could it be missing cause the cdi box is messed up from water damage?
