i have a z 400 with pipe jetted and lid removed runs about 75 but gets thier quicker then before my brother has a stock 400ex untill this sat and he bought th eslip on hmf so we raced first i pulled throgh all gears quicker and faster we pipe and jet his and i still get a little mid range for some reason but the top spead is the same and the tkae off is the same but third gear i pulled ahead we did multipul runs and even swithced quads same result so bang for your buck it made a big differance on his and as for jet size we did not get one with the pipe like they said we would so we bought a few from the local shop and a 150 run the best the shop did not have a 152 or a 155 he did not notice much differance with lid on or off so he left it on if you plan on modifing your box i would say a 155 jet i live in iowa not sure of elevation but i think its about 600-800.
