so only 3 wheels spin.. today i looked at the wire running to the hub and noticed it was spliced like maybe it was broke and someone fixed it.. well the electric tape was comming off and was all wet... could this be the problem?>

 

you need to make sure it has good connection for sure as it could be the problem. just a guess.

 

could because it had gotten wet.. made it not work?

 

when you put it back together use some heat shrink tubing on it

 

ok so i took the crimp off and just twisted the wires together real good,,, i didnt go mudding to test it i wrapped a belt around a tree and around the hitch and tryed the 2 wheel first to make sure the tree would hold.. then 4x4 and still only three wheels spun.. im thinkin maybe the fluid now.. but it looks as though maybe the allen screw is partially stripped is there anything i can use to get that screw out?

 

also it dies when i put it in reverse... but i can hold the override and use my foot to put it in reverse and it works.. dont kno if that maybe have somthing to do with it or not

 

Buy a set of easy outs. They thread in counterclockwise

If you don't want to buy a whole set, you can also get a single screw extractor (easy out) that comes with the correct size LEFT-HANDED drill bit. If you have to drill the hole deeper and the bit catches, it will help unscrew it, instead of making it worse like a right-hand drill bit would.
