Default Coolster 150cc problems

I just bought 3 new Coolster ATV's. The 125cc leaked oil so the company is sending me a new motor. I also bought 2 150cc sports and one runs fine and the other is shifting in and out of gear. It is doing just what a car would do when the cluth is going out. It seems as though it wants to jump out of gear. Does anyone have a clue to what this is. I think it is the clutch but I am not a professional and looking for help. These atv's are only 1 week old and I bought them from a dealer a couple hours away. The dealer will replace the part if I can figure out what it is. I don't want to drive 2 hours to fix something that might be simple. Thanks

your coolster like every other chinese 150cc atv uses a honda gy6 engine clone with a cvt transmission, the cvt transmission uses a variator, drive belt and a clutch, what it sounds like whats happening is the drive belt is slipping, you may have a seal leaking or maybe just a bad belt, you need to remove the cvt cover to check this out. the cover you need to remove is the long cover on the left side of the engine. once this cover removed then check for any oil or grease residue.

Thanks, I took that cover off yesterday and checked to make sure the bolts were tight. It all looked good on the inside. The belt looked good. That is why I was wondering if the clutch was slipping. This is what it seems like but I am not sure. You can be going slow just putting around and it jumps, or you can be going fast and it will jump. It is consistant. It is just like a transmission slipping in and out of gear.

Does it jump out of Drive and not go back in by itself? I have one of my Jetmoto 150's sometimes under a load will pop out of drive but then you have to push the shifter back into drive! Can you post a pic of your shifter set up, there are several different types on these 150's?

This is an automatic. It has a side handle for reverse. It doesnt jump completely out of gear it just jumps as your riding it. Just like a bike would do if it was a 4 speed and how when the clutch is bad it will jump back down a gear. It feels as though it wants to jump out of a gear. I called the manufacturer in California, they told me they thought it might be the cyntrifical clutch. I just dont want to take something apart and start working on the wrong problem. They gave me permission to take the clutch apart and file down the inside where some edging might be flared. They said they would replace it if something went wrong with me tearing it apart. I dont want to take it apart if someone has had this problem and can help me.

Welcome to the forum jazzyjt2000! from the pics it looks like you have the same reverse rear end as my '06 Jetmoto 150. In order for it to work correctly in forward there needs to be no tension on the lever on the rear end. You might need to make a adjustment in the reverse cable.

If it is grinding as you engage but goes quiet once in, the clutch is dragging, most common cause, idle set to fast. If it grinds once in and won't drive, either the gear linkage needs adjustment or the gears have stripped.
