Need help choosing which Brand/Model
#1
Hey all , been reading the forums for a while but just signed up yesterday . I have a 95 Polaris Scrambler 400 4x4 that my roomie will be using so I want to get myself a new quad... by new i mean new to me.. i want something either brand new or up to 4 years old. I am 6'3" 250 so a bigger guy. My 400 hauled me around with no issues! I am not a speed demon nor do i care to ever race, do wheelies, or hit the desert. I want it for trail riding, the ocasional mud hole, nothing to technical but just all around fun. I live in Minnesota so yeah it will probably see snow, but I don't plan on plowing with it.
Here are my list of requirements if you will....
1. Powerful enough to haul me around but not too powerful that i have to watch my throttle all the time.
2. Can get through some muddy ares without too much trouble all the time. ( getting stuck doesnt bother me just not all the time )
3. Easy to maintain and get parts for.
4. Mainly Trail/woods riding.
5. Able to be modified if i want to.
6. Under $3500
I hope that helps ! Thanks in advance for any opinions.

Did you read his post?
I would be looking at a 500cc ute if I were you. Any of them will do what you need it to do, will be reliable, and will not be overkill.

Outlander 650/800 is way above 3500$. Scrambler 500, Vinson 500, Grizzly 660...not sure on prices on all of these, but I am assuming you don't want something slower/less powerful than your Scrammy 400. Can't have your roomie smoking you on your own quad!
I would think a good used Vinson 500, either in auto or manual, would give you the most bang for buck at that price range. Nice power, speed, 4wd, simple, they seem to be good quads.
