Tire Size to Clutch Size
#1
I have a 2005 Yamaha Kodiak 450 with 25 x 8 x 12 front and 25 x 10 x 12 rear original equiptment tires. I ride mud, swamp, hard trail and cross streams/small rivers all in the same day (moose camp is a long ways back in). Can I replace the original tires with a 27" Mudlite XL without having clutch problems or will I have to settle for 26" Mudlite AT tires?

Bigger tires are going to decrease available torque and torque is what you want in mud and up hills.
There may also be some clearance issues with 27's on a 450. They might look cool but aren't going to work too well.
If I were you I would get a good set of 26" Mudlites or Bearclaws, etc. Then if you find you need some more bottom end grunt get a clutch kit.
