Reverse gear will not engage
#1
Reverse will not engage - FYI
ATV: 2003 LT-Z400
Symptom: Reverse gear will not engage.
While riding over some cut down trees, a branch rolled up and hit the left peg area near the gear shift lever, this is the location of the small bracket for the reverse gear cable.
It was bent inward but not noticeable so it took awhile to figure out why reverse stopped working. After removing the bracket and straightening it out, and all works fine now.
FYI
REASON for post: I searched the Internet for anything related to Suzuki LT-Z400, reverse not working, reverse failure to engage, fix broken reverse gear etc ... without any hits.
Now we have one!

good to know these things, some people wouldnt take the time to really look at the cable, my advise is stay away from trees. blew a tire this weekend because of a tree of a sharp rock. and welcome to the forums
