Default Battery for Sportsman 800

does anybody know a good place to get a battery for an 800. I went to polaris, and they want $130 for one. I thought that was a little high. Thanks for the help.

My friend found out with his 660 Grizzly that the bigger bore ATVs with no decommpresion reguire a more exspensive battery , a cheaper 12 AH with 200 crank amps for $30 from Wall mart may work in a 500 but yous 800 may NEED a 18AH(Amp Hour) with 250-300 crank amps,Wall mart also sells them but not for $30.

I recently bought one for my 700. Yes, they are expensive. However, the yuasa's that are oem are much better than any battery out there. Any competent mechanic will tell you not to substitute. Unless, you don't mind being stranded!

since there is no pull cord, make sure you get enough cranking amps for this big bore or it wont last and may not start in the cold weather.

Theres a place on outer Hammond St. in Bangor where I paid $99.00 for my sealed 30amp , maintenamce free battery. It is identical to the OEM one that came with the 800. The companies name is; TBA, phone # 207-262-1053. Tell them you saw their name on here and that it would be worth their while to sell you a replacement for that price. I DID have to strike a deal with them but it wasnt tooooo hard to do. Good luck!!!

I put an Odyssey PC925L in my 700 last year........It's a little pricey but I don't put a price on a proven, dependable battery...

I have been using Deka, batterys for a while now. i plan on replacing the 800 batt with one. I was shocked the first time i walked into my local polaris dealer and saw they carried them.
