Hi, I was told that when these bike are submerged under water it shorts out the reverse gear mech. or switch, light ?. I bought this bike from someone who stored it for 8 years becaues of this problem. There was a bulletin back in 95 on this from yamaha. I just need to know what it is that cooks. I'm pullin my hair out. Tim

 

cdi unit? or a coil breaking down under load?

possible crank position sensor?

 

Thanks I did replace the coil. I recieved a tip from a friend of mine who told me to warm the cdi box up in my oven just a little bit to maybe dry it out have you heard of this.
