Default couple of question 96 magnum 4x4

about a month ago i was riding and it just died, almost like i rqn out of gas but didnt. so i had it tuned up. oil filter plug the whole deal. now i have noticed that when i give it alot of gas it starts to sputter at slow speeds its fine, and i put it in the garage and the next morning te place smelt like gas BAD. but there were no puddles on the floor. and there is noticeably less fuel in the tank.so my question is do you guys think its the float sticking of is it a small line leaking and evaporating b4 it puddles up, and it it taking in air when i give it gas. and the on / off/ reserve lever is not marked i need to know what position means what. i will shut it off when im not using it, till i can get it fixed

Sounds like the needle valve and seat are bad.Replace them and see what happens.

Welcome to the forum Picu. I'm not entirely sure about the fuel lever. But I believe horizontal is off for travel, up is on, and down is reserve.

check your oil. last time I lost a lot of fuel it went into the crankcase. there is a vent tube from the case that goes to the airbox when the float sticks or whatever happens the fuel fills up the box and drains into the crankcase. if this is the situation your oil will smell like gas. thats what happened to mine one time anyway.
