Would switching the carb on a 300EX with a 400EX's carb produce any more power? Also, does it just screw/bolt right on and use the same fittings as the stock 300EX ones?

 

It will improve the top end power, when you have a pipe and all the other bolt ons. The older 400ex's (99-04) have a 35.5mm carb. I fits in the stock 300 boots, barely. I doubt you could get the newer 38mm carb in those same parts.
