taotao 250D battery charge??

Hello and geetings to all
We have a taotao 250D which we brought home, we put the acid in the battery
and tried to start the engine and it sounded like it wanted to but it
didn´t start. We took out the battery and took out the stoppers from the
battery for about two or more hours then we put them back again, but now
the engine doesn´t even sound, looks like it has no charge however using
a multimeter it says about 12.3V, if you have experienced this how did you solved it? or do you think it needs to be charged?
I think it needs to be charged (how?) because the first time we put the battery the lights were turned on and they did very well unfortunately not the engine
Hope you guys can help us

I would charge it. If you have a Harbor freight near by they sell inexpensive chargers. Also check all you connections and make sure they are good. A bad connection can make all the difference. You can watch the voltage on your multi-meter under cranking to see what the voltage drops to. If it drops below 10.5 it will need to be charged.

Those new batteries need to sit for about an hour after adding the acid to them. After that they need to be put on a trickle charger for about 4 - 5 hours. A fully charged batteries voltage is 12.6 volts. Don't rely on the ATVs charging system to charge a new battery.
