ur best bet is just to wait till u receive the manual in order to get the correct specs for your own eyes to see.

the drain plug is most likely under the skid plate. that is where both mine are on my 99 big bear for the front and rear ends. just be sure to use Yamalube in the crankcase. if you use the wrong oil in the crankcase, it will cause the clutch to not operate and eventually burn up. unless you live somewhere like florida, i would suggest using 10w40 Yamalube. your local stealership should have that in stock as well as the oil filter. i ordered my filter from denniskirk.com as it was 7 bucks there or goto yamaha and pay 15 for it.

the crankcase drain plug is usually on the bottom of the engine block. if you have a full body skidplate, you might have to remove it.

i am not sure about motorcycles, but ATV clutches are what is referred too as a "wet clutch" system. the crankcase oil lubricates/cools the clutch packs and the ATV oil has additives to prevent the clutch disks from wearing out and overheating. the ATV oil is "Jasco approved" so make sure your ATV oil has that rating.

my front and rear differential cases are stamped SAE 80w90 Hypoid Gear Lubricant. that is a stamping that came on the case from Yamaha. check your cases, they might be stamped. if they are not, call your local stealership if you do this before getting your manual. the stealership can look it up. the service manual will have that information in it as well.

EDIT: i have heard of people using Shell Rotella 15w40 oil in ATVs with no problem, but i personally do not know anyone that has tried it. Valvoline and Pennzoil make ATV oil as well, but it is a pain in the *** to find. i live in Chattanooga TN and i can not find a store that stocks either brand. so its going to be Yamalube when i change it again. that is what yamaha put in it when they serviced it and did repair work on it after i got it used and not running.
