Are 400L Sport and 500Sport cylinders inerchangable

I left our rebuilt 97 400L cylinger outside and its rusty, I just saw a cylinder on Ebay for a 97 500Sportsman and a 500Scrambler and am wondering if they are interchangable? thanks
