Default stator/pulse coil Gap specs ? ? ?

A friend of mine has a sportsman 600 we need to reset the gap on the pulse coil what is the gap to be set at ?

my magnum 500 is supposed to be set at.016 to .030" (.4-.75mm) it was kinda hard to get it exactly so I just bent it to where it was nearly touching the magnet and have been riding wheelies ever since. good luck

Neato !. . . well than i'm guessing the RM stator guy put the wrong pulse coil in this stator all together. . .

1. the coil is set as close to the fly wheel as possable and its a ways away we can't file the whole any more than we have.

2. the magnetic strip on the fly wheel completly passes the trigger on coil coil bracket holds away from engine case so bent it so it would sit way back now coil case touches engine case but still needs go back a quater inch. . .

I know when I finally got mine to work it was ugly and crooked but it worked and it wasnt that much trouble maybe you do have a wrong part or something. I dont know, good luck
