Default 2003 Honda 400ex chain length

Im trying to find the right chain length for my 2003 honda 400ex. I have been looking online but no luck. I also have looked on ebay and one listing says the stock is 102 and one says 92. I am sure 92 is the right one but I want to double check.

thanks

EDIT

well I couldnt wait so I counted the old chain and it read 94. Ahh what should I stick to

94 it is.

Quick question. If I add more teeth to my gear ratio total, will i need bigger chain? If I keep the same number of teeth but use a different ratio, I can still use the same length? Im thinking yes.

What do you want to do with your gear ratio? Gear it higher? Gear it lower? You can probably go down one in front and still use the same length chain. What do you want to accomplish with your ratio changes?

Ok well I see a 13t sidewinder on ebay and a 38t as well. If i dropped two teeth, what chain length should I use?

Get a stock length chain and also get a chain break. That way you can make your chain whatever length you want.
You can get chain breaks from rockymountianatv.com

Can you put a chain link back onto a chain?
