Hello all,

New to the forum, but from my past experiences, forums are the best to get specific information. I have 5 acres of wooded lot and need to start cleaning it out for new home construction in the next two years. I've been looking for a utility ATV and my budget goal was under $3000. I was looking at some older Hondas and Polaris. However, a relative found a 2004 Sportman 700 for $2900, being sold from a dealer. Here's the catch. 561 hours and 8000 miles on the machine. Talked with the dealer and said the machime was used on a farm to get to misc. fields etc., and used everyday. No mudding or plowing. The machine was serviced at the dealership and says that the previous owner took good care of it. The price is great, 2004 is the newest year I could find in that price range. I'd like to get your opinions on this purchase. Clutch has been replaced,a engine gasket has been upgraded to rubber (from paper?) Full service records are available.

Anything I need to look out for? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

 

I'd say thats alot of miles, be sure to check it over well, check the front drive shaft from the motor to front diff for play and the splines on these wear out and stuff.
