Help! Grizz 125 stalls when gas is applied!
#1
I would appreciate any suggestions on this. My son's '05 Grizzly 125 has run quite well until now. It cranks ok (although you have to have the choke on), then idles okay, but dies as soon as you push the gas lever. The gas is not very old - we've been riding short rides together all summer (I have a Kawasaki Prarie 400) and this is the first time he's had any problems (other than the battery I replaced on the 125 about 2 months ago).
The spark plug seems fine, and I cleaned it up the other day. I am wondering if the carb is jammed up and needs cleaning - would it still crank and idle if it was gummed up?
Thanks in advance-

It sounds like it is not getting enough gas or air. When you push the gas lever you are adding gas and air. If either system is clogged you will have problems. Make sure the air filter is clean. Most likely it is gas. Probably in the carb but it could be a restriction in the gas line or on/off valve. Also I have heard of similar problems when the gas cap vent line is clogged.

I forgot to add that I cleaned the air filter as well as the plug, so it's not the problem. I was afraid it is the carb...I will check the fuel filter for issues first though.
THanks for the replies!

one thing i have noticed about yamaha ATVs is when the carb is set correctly, they run like a dream. if you get one that is fuxored or someone went screw happy trying to tweak it, they dont run worth a flying ****.
