the story of my life... bye bye yamaha

Well I haven't been around for a while now, years I would say! But here's a quick update; sold the raptor, yfz was stolen (thank god! POS would always break down)
So as of yesterday, the family is proud to own a new kind of 450! A KTM that is! Hopefully this one will turn out to be reliable unlike all those Yamahas we owned. Don't get me wrong Yamaha makes some damn good bikes, but I think ours spent more time in the shop than out there riding. So give me your opinions on the purchse since ktm doesn't have a forum =(

Well you/we will just have to see, the KTM's are great bikes but as with there 2wd counter parts you pay out the a$$ for any kind of part for them.
All I will say is Ballance is still winning on his YFZ thought there has been some siff comp from KTM, and lets not forget that there is a all new YFZ on the way!
I know one thing my 700R will be in my garage for a lifetime.

They sould hold up great as most of KTM's do but to say it will be better than your YFZ is yet known.
I say I would rather have a Toyota in my garage than a BMW. Then again I would rather hav STIHL chainsaw than a HOMELIGHT.

ah man.. test drove that thing.. and it's quick off the line anywhere and everywhere.. lined up with a couple of modded yfz's and blew them away.. i was impressed by this stock machine.. but to the level your talking about.. it comes down to the rider.. doug on his suzuki was unstoppable for a while.. why? cuz he was a better drive imo... to each his own... i would actually take the bmw over the toyota, unless it's a supra then give me the toyota.. =)
