I just bought a new YFZ450 it has been about 6 years since I owned my last quad. I am trying to decide where to start the upgrades at, any suggestions?

Welcome to the forums ridnhiz71. I'd start with a new filter. I have the pro flo kit. Those stock filters are a joke. Secondly exhaust and jet accordingly. You will feel a world of difference with those simple things. After that I just have to have after market rims. A set of Douglas rims 10x8 will improve looks and widen the stance of the YFZ.

LOL @ the helmet comment. I knew I forgot something. The wind in my hair just felt all wrong when I was out riding.

Koopa, I have never handled much of the work on my previous machines, but I want to learn a little on this one. How hard would it be for me to install exhaust and jet? Also, what kind of exhaust do you recommend?

Koopa, I am an idiot. I just now read your signature, so I know what kind of exhaust now.

Actually that was on mine when I bought it. Graydon went out of business awhile back. There are several good ones out there HMF I believe is good for the price. Sparks, CT, Yoshimura are all good ones. You should be able to put the exhaust on with no problem. Re-jetting is also a pretty easy procedure and MUST be done before riding with new exhaust. You can probably find step-by-step guide if you do some research. The jet is easily accessible by removing the bowl on the bottom of the carb.
