I just put a winch on yesterday, all was easy enough , til the part that should have been easy. Hooking up to the battery. OMG, what were they thinking? It looks like you might have to take the front end gas tank off to change the battery.
I finally was able to get the wires hooked up but , what a huge hassle, and I had to butcher the battery cover to get it back on.
Has anybody found an easier way to get to it?

No Kiddin!
And to make matters worse, I had to do it again. I ran the wires thru the radiator guard, and I decided I did'nt like that.
It was slightly easier the 2nd time as I took off the inside of the right front fender; all those little plastic doo dad fasteners. Also making little wood wedges to hold the battery nuts up so the bolt would reach helped.

thats why they put a accesory cord to the front storage box to run a charger too because of the limited access to the battery. not the greatest design for a battery location for sure.
