Default For 3500 buck I'm looking for sport quad

To make this as short as possible. I'm looking in around there price range. I ride with a Raptor 700r and a KFX 700.

I'm not looking to beat there asses, frankly dont care how fast they go. I was riding a timberwolf 250 and having a blast on it just because of where we ride. So with that what should I look at.

The YFZ 450 seems like It would be the choice if I want to fighting back at them but I dunno, don't seem to like it that much even though its light (350 lbs) with plenty of power and then some. But still might get it.

I was looking at Predator 500's and they don't seem bad but I dunno. They don't turn me on that much.

My fav is the DS650. Just like how different they look but unless your brand loyal, they seem to get bashed a lot. There's a guy I've been in contact with that has a race modded 2001 X package he's selling for $3500. Said he'd put it back to stock and sell it for $2500.

I really like that but I keep getting **** for wanting it. They do way 500 lbs so that kinda worries me. I don't to feel like I'm tossing around a 2wd utility vehicle. Or if it's on its side it's so heavy I can get it back up!

Thoughts?

Ive come across a handful of things about the 660 that weren't that positive, mainly how tippy they are and I tend not to be very slow going. I'll take a look at the 400.

You might want to take a look at the 400ex its a little on the slow side as far as top speed is considered (Around 65 mph stock.) but is one of the best in the tight trails. Also the 400ex is said to be a very reliable machine that lasts forever. YOU might want to take a closer look at it. just my 2 cents

ya they are a bit tippy. i have a 700 and it's a great machine but i dont think u will get one for 3500. the z 400 is a great bike liquid cooled dual cam and pretty fast for a 400. i would recomend that for a trail bike.

First off, the DS is a big machine for big guys. If you aren't a really big guy, then there are a dozen better choices you could make!

Don't ignore the 400 class. They both handle great. The EX is the world's best tight trail quad, and the Z is faster and great in open country.

Teh YFZ is a fun little machine too, but they are spring stiff, so the ride can be harsh. You might want to consider some aftermarket shocks.

Like the options your offering. Nice to see theres no huge biased towards anything. Im 6 foot 210. Not to big but my snowmbile is a 03 800 rev that I extended the track from 121 to a 144". So I'm use to throwing around a big machine all winter long. I can handle a big quad, but just don't want to feel like I should have just bought a 4x4 the way it feels.

Thanks for these. I'll take a look

Oh yea, while I'm thinking of it. Is there any years I should avoid or years I should look for? Like when I was looking at pred's had to looking for 04 or newer anything 03 or under had no reverse. Any first year production models that had some issues that were correced in whatever year. That kind of thing

*edit*
Kind of funny, went on ebay to take a look (my quad is on there right now too) and a "race ready" YFZ 450 happens to pop up 10 minutes away from me. Carbon fiber wheels and long travel a arms and all that. Kinda funny how you get "signs"

Sent him a message to see how much he was asking for it locally since stated in auction he'd end early if it sold local for asking price.

I will agree the Z400 and the 400ex are the way to go. I was look at buying a Z before I came across the 700R. I am a bigger guy and the 700R just fit me better not because the Z was bad. I also love the EFI on Raptor as I ride alot at 10'000 ft elevation and it is almost a nessesity!
