Default Looking at 2000 trailblazer 250 fs need help

I am going to look at a 200 trailblazer 250 that needs a new top end . Anything special I should look for with regard to buying this unit. Problema areas etc?
How much will a new jug and piston run me? They want $300 for it what do you think?

thanks, Matt

Cylinder can be bored, dont have to replace if not damaged. BETTER check machine over good. 300 bucks just a starting point,CAN possibly need more than a top end. Can get costly if you let a shop repair machine. If handy with tools could come out ok without spending more than its worth! Good luck

Thanks Old Tech, looked at it last night - too rough
needed a fuel tank and an exhaust pipe, had been outside with the head off for a long time, piston frozen in jug, chain shot, seat bad etc

told the guy he could do better parting it out on fleabay. He agreed.
