Polaris Ranger Starter
#1
2005 Polaris ranger starter will not stop turning. Unit is off and key is out--had to disconnect battery to get it to stop. Starts turning whenever battery is reconnected. Is this a problem in the ignition switch?

Probably. You may have moisture on the contacts closing the circuit inside the switch. Or, it could be a stuck starter solenoid, which is what sends current to the starter. Clean all contacts with WD-40 or similar. I don't think it's the pushbutton, unless the starter ordinarily turns over with the key off.

Yes good chance starter solenoid! Had ranger do same thing! Solenoid under seat in front of oil tank under metal flap. Just replace . Good luck
