Hello..... I have had this unit since new.... It has an engine miss and back fires when it is at about 1/4 throttle... I checked air flow... I checked the fuel flow... no kinks or obstructions. it's all good.... I have taken carb apart and cleaned (used solvents and compressed air)...... new spark plug. no luck... At idle it is runs fine.... past 1/4 throttle is runs fine.... Has anybody heard of this.... any ideas..... any info would be appreciated!!!

does it miss or does it hesitate? Does it do it when you take off hard or stabb the throttle quick?

 

Its a diffenate miss ... on soft accel at 1/4 throttle it's very noticeable...

I don't know if this is related but when the engine is cold to warm on very hard accel to maximum throttle(full sweep of the throttle range) the engine may even cough out completely until the throttle is let back off to 1/4 throttle..... Its weird it's like its either flooding or starving for air....... It's driving me CRAZY! I have often though it's maybe not getting fuel quick enough.... but why would it run fine after 1/4 throttle on a normal accel???? When the engine is warm it will not cough out but still has the miss at 1/4 throttle...
