Checking Big Bear Valves Hot or Cold?
#1
I know the clearance on the valves for my Big Bear but i was told that some bikes need to be checked while the engine is cold and others while its hot. Well i checked it cold and they still seemed tight at TDC. But when i go to run it after it gets hot it has a tap again. Any suggestions?

All valve specs I know of are set hot unless they have two specs. (Hot and cold)
Here is a little tip for you.
"If" your quad has hot specs and you don't like working on a hot engine (like me) then you can get the engine hot and set the valves to specs. Let the engine cool and check the specs again. Write down this figure somewhere safe. Now you can check the valves cold and get it to factory specs.
