Wolverine carb
#1
Hi,
I got the carb out the side, never could figure out how to get the tank off! Anyway, now I've got another question. Once I took the carb apart to clean it, the main jet is in a plastic holder, the holder is threaded on the inside at the top for the main to screw into. Below that threaded portion I can see more jet openings inside (my Honda has the needle jet below the main jet holder) Does that plastic holder come out to clean the jets underneath? I pulled on it but it didn't budge, I don't want to break it off! I've sent my neighbor on mission to get a Clymer manual and e-mail the carp procedures down to me.

Not exactly sure what year, probably after 2000, not sure of engine size either. It belongs to a neighbor. I'll check, but, the plastic main jet holder is probably the same on most Mikuni's.

If a jet will not come out just use a wire to clear it out without removing it.

The instuction are for Mikuni slide carb but all carbs have a main and pilot Jet which is really what you want to clean out besides all the carb body passages.

If you do a lookup of a 2003 Wolverine, get the parts blowup of the carb..........I am looking at #5 the main nozzle, it shows the part coming out of the body. That part, at least on the Mikuni I'm looking at, has a plastic tube about an inch long, inside the tube at the top are threads that the main jet screws into. As I look into this plastic tube there are small openings on the side that should be cleaned but there is no way to get a wire in sideways. It would be great to include a picture but I don't see any way to do it on this site.
