Default running problem

so another words the battery is dead and the charging system isnt putting out any volts by the sound of it and most of the newer bikes need a 12 volt charge to stay running. take a volt tester to seehow any volts the bike is putting out off and then w/ it running. off should be be around 12.5 and running should be 13.5+ volts when around 3,000 rmps. if not then maybe the recifier is gone bad or even unplugged.
