Default Tires on Honda 500 ES

Last year I replaced my trusty and loyal workhorse 450 Es with a new 500ES
We use it extensively on a beef farm in Ireland
It does the same as the previous (much more durable) machine
Mostly on the land
I recently noticed that despite only 800 miles and 350 hours on the clock the tires are worn down to about 20%
Tires lasted 4 years on the last model
Is there an issue with this bike and tires
Although it never was envolved in any accident or crunch the tires seem to be wearing sideways as if it was out of line- badgering-
Any help appreciated

The Foreman comes stock with 2 ply tires and not good ones at that, they looked bald even when new. my friend changed his 500 Foreman to 25" 6ply Mud lites after a month, it also handled and steered better with the firmer tires.

Get any 4 ply or 6ply tires made and it will be a improvement.

2 Plys on any Utility ATV is just a production saving idea on the Manufacturers part.

If its not printed on the tires than they use the "Star" symbol system on the sidewall of the tire.

1 star=2 ply
2 star=4ply
3 star=6ply.

my 500 oreman brand new from the factory, when looked at from the front, they tilted inwards, and caused my tires to wear a lot faster, you can measure from tire to tire top and bottom, both should have the same measurements, if not the are out of line, you can adjust them by adjusting your tierod ends, I would then install a higher quality tire, such as 4 or 6 ply.

yeh if u ride on the road alot with 2 ply they will be gone in no time.. my dads foreman has bad tires also..

you can drift with them in bumpy dry grass fields..

get some terracross, mudlites, bighorns, swamplites, basically any other 4 or 6 ply tire and they be fine

If you ride rocky rough terrian two plys will also fail quicker, infact I,m not sure of a road condition where thinner 2 ply tires could be a advantage.

There is a procedure to check alignment in the service manual.

Also, the stock tires are pretty crummy. You might try some Bighorns...
