i have an 87 moto4 200 and i had carb problems. i cleaned it and put new gas and it started right up, ran for about 5 minutes and shut off then i couldnet get it started. the next day it started first pul and ran for about 5 minutes and shut off again. any suggestions?

did you do a compression check. sounds like something is expanding when it gets warm and has a leak somewhere. try a leakdown test too. that will help narrow down the culprit

 

My 89 Big Bear would quit for no reason,tuned out the gas cap venting was not breathing right. Run your ATV without the gas cap,if it runs ok than thats the problem.

I took the gas cap apart and it has a spring and ball bearings inside, its like a more complicated thing than a cap with a hole and vent tube stuck to it.

 

if it is the gas cap what do i do? and how do i do a leakdown test? im only 15.
