Default '90 Moto4 250 Project

My brother-in-law has a Moto4 that's been out of commission for a year or so, and he's got me working on it. I've never messed with the insides of an atv before, but I work on cars all the time. So, I'll need some help.

First, who makes a manual for the 250 Moto4? I heard the Timberwolf was the same, so can I use the Clymer manual for the Timberwolf 250 for this atv?

The battery had just under 11v, but I got it charged enough to where I could jump it off another vehicle. I took it for a quick spin before it died, jumped it again and rode it back. Using a multimeter, it's showing no charging of the battery under WOT.

Can anyone tell me how to test the stator (I assume the two connectors coming out of the left side of the engine belong to it)? What else could be suspect? The regulator?

Where can I get replacement parts, besides a Yamaha dealer? Preferably online. It needs some new brake cables and possibly a set of left rear bearings. It's also needing a new seat cover, and who knows what else as I start breaking into it.

Sorry for the long post, thanks for any help.

you should be able to use the timberwolf manual for the most part of it. Check ebay for the cables and bearings, seat cover. The brake cables are not that expensive even at the Yamah dealer. Buy a brand new battery to start with and get a good one.
