What yamaha to get for $3,000
#1
Hey all, forgive me I'm usually on the Honda forums, as I used to own a 2001 Honda Rancher 4x4 foot shift until I had to sell it a few years ago due to financial constraints. Anyway, I am back in the market and looking for a used Yamaha utility quad and need all you Yamaha gurus to help me in leading me to the right model. Basically I am looking for something reliable, no older than 2002, foot shift, 4x4 with diff lock. I'm only 5'8 at 165 lbs so no need for big bores, the Honda Rancher was perfect for me in size, just wished it had diff lock and a little more power. I will be mostly riding in New Hampshire on hard packed but technical trails (tight twisties). Very little to no mud. Anyone that can point me in the right direction would be very helpful since all I know is Honda models and nothing about Yamaha besides the fact that when I was young I had a 1984 TriZinger 60cc ATC and a Big Wheel dirt bike that never died. Thank you all in advanced.

are the grizzlies foot shift or do they have that cvt crap? i know the big bears are foot shift quads.</end quote></div>
What decent utility ATV does not have the CVT crap?
Saying cvt is not a option for buying a Utility ATV just reduced your selection by 90% and that 90% is all the worth while make and models.
Yes the big Bear is Yamaha one and only foot shift, but its far from Yamaha,s most stellar model .
Good luck choosing from the remain 10% for a foot shift ATV.
Back to the question.
look for a used 400 Kodiak,660/450 Grizzly even a good used 600 Grizzly.
