Suspension Lock for 01 350 Rancher
#1
Hello fella's. I'm new here and joined to see if I could get a little help for hauling a boat with my 350 Rancher. The OEM hitch is rated for 30 lbs and is too low to the ground. I'm wanting to haul a 16 ft boat with a tongue weight around 70 lbs. I've heard of suspension locks which I think would take the scissor action out of the rear end. If I installed a suspension lock, could I build a bracket that would distribute the weight between the factory hitch and the rear cargo rack. By doing this I would increase the tongue weight and be able to raise the hitch up to at least level the trailer if not make it ride tongue high.
Any of you ever heard of this being done and whether it worked or not?

I wouldn't worry about it. If you break the hitch, worry about it after that.....
You say it is to low? Just run a taller ball, and pump up your rear tires real hard.
