i have bought a 1996 sportsman 500 4+4 and the carb settings are all off bad i need to find out approximately where theyre supposed to be set at. it will start fine but takeoff has no power. the man i bought it from said he rebuilt it . i dont think he made the right adjustments

 

crank it all he way in.. 1.5 turns should be sufficant for the idle(thats the screw with the spring)... or whatever... main thing is to make sure the choke cable is set right,.. if the choke cable is outta wack it will be boggy as hell..best thing to do is play with it a bit.. till it seems clear.. if its a 2 stroke be sure to check the plug
