Default GPS for my quad

Can anybody recommend a decent inexpensive handheld gps for my quad. You know something basic that isn't going to break from all the BS of off road stuff. Tell me where I was and tracks my progress and current speed. I haven't looked at any of the new GPS so I don't even know what they do all I see in the stores is the expensive tom tom's, garmins and crap that I don't need. New or used.

I use a Garmin. It cost me about 250 bucks but well worth it.

Just make sure you buy a Ram Mount for it to mount to your handle bars. it is the best i think.

I used a Garmin Map76 last month while riding up in Maine which worked out nicely. Whatever unit you choose I would highly suggest a unit with a built in base map. It allows you to see where you are in relation to other things such as roads, ponds, etc.

I end up getting a Magellan Triton 300 on ebay new for like 90 bucks. I can update the maps but haven't tried yet. Wish I would have got the 400 I didn't realize the 300 is going to be a little more difficult to update the maps but it did come with a base that currently I only see major highways and interstates so I need to play with it. Seems sturdy and easy to use but I will need to get a RAM mount as it doesn't get a very good signal where I was riding when it was in my pocket. Speed, compass and trails seem to be accurate. I need to update and test more but the odometer is 3x off. I went 1 mile in the truck and it said I went 3 miles, seemed to be 3x consistantly off while the speed was dead on.
