fourtrax 300 4x4 spitting oil out rear driveshaft housing

Default fourtrax 300 4x4 spitting oil out rear driveshaft housing

is this a seal or a crack in my engine case?

You might need to be more specific as to the location of the leak.

yea the top or bottom of the rear drive shaft housing...........ps i have a service manaul

Default fourtrax 300 4x4 spitting oil out rear driveshaft housing

it is the housing on the left rear of the engine that drives the rear shaft and the transfer shaft for the front. I have my transfer shaft out because I had the side cover off for a firing problem,Got the firing prob fixed and it`s running now but shooting oil out where the transfer shaft connects to the splines in that housing.Is it a seal you think?

Default fourtrax 300 4x4 spitting oil out rear driveshaft housing

my honda service manual shows a seal like the front drive shaft seal,..it wont seal without the shaft in place ..if you replace the shaft and it still leaks get a new seal
